KLRU Joins the Global #GivingTuesday Movement
KLRU has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.
Occurring this year on December 1, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
As YOUR COMMUNITY supported PBS station, we ask you to join the movement and help promote our efforts! Whether you choose to give, become a personal fundraiser or share our social media posts – YOUR KLRU needs your support! Help us reach our goal of $30,000 and build community right here in Central Texas.

Here’s how you can support KLRU this #GivingTuesday:
1. Get involved and become a fundraiser! Currently, we need 10 more people to sign up as fundraisers in order to meet our $30,000 goal! Encourage your friends, family, colleagues and neighbors to give on your behalf to YOUR KLRU on #GivingTuesday. Sign-up is easy (it takes less than 1 minute!) and we will even provide you with email messages, social media content and a timeline on when to communicate. 2. Help spread the word about #GivingTuesday. Join KLRU on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – be sure to retweet, reshare and regram our posts with #yourklru and #GivingTuesday. Your shares will boost KLRU’s visibility and help drive more donations!
3. Does your business want to get involved? Consider becoming a business partner and providing generous matching support for #GivingTuesday! KLRU will post your company’s logo and message your matching contribution in email messaging and social media. Your matching dollars serve a bigger impact!
